Services Offered:
- Translation: I'll translate your novel into German, delivering a high-quality Word document. Although I aim for few errors, multiple proofreading rounds might be necessary for perfect accuracy. Consider adding proofreading services for the best result.
- Proofreading: Got a German manuscript? I'll proofread it, fixing occasional sentences but not editing. Note that difficult or AI-generated texts might need more workβediting services are recommended for these.
- Editing: For translations that need more love, I offer editing to make your manuscript shine. This might stray further from the original, so if precise accuracy is key, a fresh translation might be better.
How It Works:
- Deadlines: We'll pick a deadline together. First-timers get 80% of the work upfront, with the rest following payment within 24 hours.
- Pricing:
- Translation: β¬0.03/English word
- Editing: β¬0.02/German word
- Proofreading: β¬0.01/German word
- Payment: You'll receive a PayPal invoice post-completion. First books are 80% delivered pre-payment, with the remainder post-payment. Please provide the invoice recipient's details.
Your Rights:
- Copyright: You own your work entirely. I won't share, copy, or publish any part of your manuscript. Also, I won't claim any royalties or additional compensation from your work's sales or distribution.
- Acknowledgment: Please credit me, Evelyne Schulz from Con-Text.org, in your book's beginning/end and metadata for translation. Proofreading doesn't require credit.
Quality & Delays:
- Quality Assurance: My translations include one final read-through. To help authors on a budget, I'll fix any typos reported within three months at no extra cost.
- Delays: I aim to meet deadlines, but life happens. Please plan any critical dates with a buffer in mind. If delays exceed two weeks, you get a 10% discount.
